TP-Link router to work with a Cable Modem


To connect the TP-Link router to work with a cable modem you have to make sure some of the tasks should be completed before. Which areas mentioned below.
1. Turn off the modem, computer, and the router.

2. You have to connect the modem via Ethernet cable to the wan port of the TP-Link router, With the help of Ethernet cable connect the main computer to TP-Link router's LAN port.
3. Gove the power to your router first then after giving power to modem and computer.

Step 1:-Login to the web-based utility of router tolinkwifi.net.Whatis-tp-link.com
Step 2:-Click on
Network>WAN on the menu after login and configure WAN connection type. Select here Dynamic IP as the WAN connection type on the web page right side. Click on the save button.
Step 3:-You have to wait for few minutes and then check WAN part on the status page. If it is showing the IP address that means the connection is established between the router and modem. If no any WAN IP address you have found then move to next steps.
Step 4:-Click on the network than on MAC Clone after scroll down and click on Clone mac address. After that click on the save button.
Step 5:-Now check here for the IP address by visiting on tolinkwifi.net. If you did not found any wan IP address then you need to restart the cable modem, wait for 10 seconds and restart the router.After completion of the restart process, you should get the Wan IP address and Internet connection.

Take care that some of the cable modems have a battery inside for power back up. Before the restart process removes these batteries and then unplug the power supply completely from the modem and check for the IP address after the restart process.
